When my babies were born (back in the "dark ages") the hospital provided all the baby's needs - diapers, ointment, wipes, etc. If that is still the case, all you really need is the outfit to bring her home in.
Call the hospital where you are planning to deliver and ask them. (Or check with one of your friends who has delivered there recently.)
Do you have a laptop? You need to be able to blog while you are in the hospital.
Cover your eyes fellas!
I would highly recommend that you purchase your own overnight, heavy duty sanitary napkins. The hospital provides them , but you will want some that actually work. (I think their's still require belts)
Also, you need really good socks. Hospitals are chilly.
If you bring your own diapers and wipes, you will use your own diapers and wipes. "Forget" them at home and use the hospital's.
Request the lactation specialist, even if you feel great about nursing, because the in house advice is useful.
Leave the baby in the nursery for a few hours at night so you can sleep. You won't have a nursery staffed with highly qualified nurses at home.
GET THE EPIDURAL. Or don't. Every woman does it her own way. GET IT. Again, or don't.
Have a good snack handy. The instant you deliver, you will likely find yourself starving.
Also, almost nothing will go the way you plan. Just remember that the whole point is bringing home baby.
If by chance you have a c-section (all I ever had), you'll be in the hospital a little longer and it's possible that your milk will come in while you are there. If that happens you will need nursing pads...otherwise about 4 shirts per day.
I would leave most of the diapers etc at home. They provide that. They also give you the leftovers, so unless you live a days travel from the hospital, that should do ya until you get home.

I second the breast pads! I forgot to mention those, but I see my dear cousin has picked up my slack.
I did not have C-sections, but I needed them early on.
It looks like you are getting great advice! I delivered both of my boys in Lubbock so I have no idea how they do it here.
But, they always provided all of that stuff (diapers, cotton balls, etc). Even new little shirts and beanie caps for the baby each new day.
In fact, our nurses would pack it all up for us to take home, even the packs of Pampers that we had not yet opened. Woohoo-- they literally took us through the first week at home!
My hospital pack incuded: diapers (they use Pampers, yeah!), gauze squares, disposable changing pads for baby, alcohol wipes , cotton balls, a babyhair brush, a set of "hospital attire" and vitamin A&D ointment (which I still have two tubes of from the boys!)
The mommy pack was pretty nice at our hospital, too. Plenty of pads in various sizes, "disposable" underwear (so stylish), lots of topical meds for hemorhoids & other "issues", and other goodies that came in handy. The only diapers I packed were in my diaper bag because I felt weird not having diapers in there!
