Third Time's a Charm!

I just got done with one of the busiest weeks that I have had in a long time! I am starting my third year as the director of the Belton Christian Preschool. We had our teacher inservice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday morning was meet the teacher and that night I had a new parent orientation.

The orientation started at 6:30 and I was a little nervous when no one was there at 6:20, but we ended up having about 20-25 families there. It was pretty informal and I didn't have to use the microphone. I was so nervous about it, but I thought it went pretty well.

I have been working such long hours this week that I have hardly seen my kids. When I ran home Thursday to eat some dinner before the meeting, both Kylee and Bailey ate dinner in my lap. It was really sweet actually. We have done pretty much nothing today. All of us took a 2 1/2 hour nap! It was very awesome. We also ventured out to Chick-fil-a for lunch and I let them play a little. It was nice to spend a whole day with them. This week makes me very thankful that I don't have to work full-time.

I never saw myself becoming a preschool director, but God always has his own plans for me. I am very thankful that he plans my life and not me. This is my third year and I feel like I know a little bit about what I am doing this year. My kiddos did get to meet their teachers, but I didn't get pictures. I will get some on the first day of school.

We survived!!

Well our first week of preschool was last week. Both of my girls are going with me :) Kylee is in a 2's class and Bailey is in the tiny class. Here are some pictures of them on their first day. I didn't get to drop Kylee off so I don't have a picture of her with her teacher.

We have been busy the past couple of weeks. We got to go see Barnum and Bailey's circus in Austin in August. This is the circus that I used to go to when I was little. I was excited for Bryan and Kylee to get to see it. My mom was sweet and watched Bailey for us while we went to the show. It's really different watching the circus as an adult. I was thinking the whole time about how all of the performers could easily fall/injure themselves. It took some of the magic out of the show, but I still enjoyed it! Kylee thought that there would be ladybugs at the circus. When it was over Kylee asked, "Where are the ladybugs?" I replied, "They must be at the zoo."
Kylee was wiped out!
We also got to take the girls to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. It was a good time. Great weather and the girls had a blast. Kylee was determined to find those ladybugs at the zoo. These are the only ones that we found.

Bailey's first time to the park by our house. She was like her sister, she cried when I stopped the swing.

Kylee still loves to swing. I'm kind of thankful that we don't have one in our backyard b/c she would ask me all day to go outside and swing.

End of the school year

Well today is my last day tutoring in Killeen. I will miss the kids and the money, but not the drive :) They have offered me the position for next year, but I also just accepted another offer. I am going to be the new co-director of Belton Christian Preschool. I will only have to work 2 days a week, drive 5 minutes from my house and have Kylee with me at all times! How can I beat that?

The other director is a very sweet lady and I think that we are going to work very well together. I am excited and a little nervous since this is uncharted territory for me. But I'm sure that I will get the hang of it quickly.

Bryan comes home on the 30th of this month, that is less than two weeks away!! We went up and visited him in Stephenville. We got to go to church with him. It was interesting. It was a very small town and they were very conservative. All of the hymns were slower and clapping was not part of the assembly. I was going to clap to one of my favorite songs, but quickly saw that they did not do that. It was weird to see our preacher there though. He left Stephenville and came to work at our church. Then he went back to Stephenville a couple of months ago. I still love his preaching, but understand why he wanted to go back there.

We are getting everything in order for Bryan. We found a therapist in Round Rock that specializes in reactive attachment disorder and we have appointments scheduled. But then we found out that his medicaid was not renewed. I have started the process, but please pray that it will move quickly. We can't get him on our insurance yet either, so hopefully he won't get sick.

Kylee is 16 months old now. Can you believe it? She is doing everything including starting to throw fits. We are trying to get that under control. I think she just wants to do things that she can't do yet and gets very frustrated. She is officially weaned!! It only took 2 bouts of mastitis, but it is done. She still asks to nurse sometimes, but I can usually distract her with a snack.

My mom is doing well with her radiation. She only has about 2 weeks left, so she is looking forward to it being over. Please pray that these last two weeks go smoothly with minimal pain.

And we have to have some pictures to round out this very long post :)

Two weeks ago Kylee's best friend, Skylar came over to play. They loved rocking in the recliner.

My sister and her little ones came up on Saturday.

Preschool

As most of you know I am teaching music at our preschool where I go to church. It is a two day a week program for babies through PK. I was hoping that Kylee could go with me, but I found out that they only take babies that are 12 months and older. So I shopped around for someone to watch her but all the churches I talked to were full and the one lady that I interviewed hardly made eye contact with me so I decided she was not a good candidate.

Two of my friends from church agreed to watch her one day a week each. So that was going to work out fine. About a week before school started the director told me that I could go ahead and bring Kylee to preschool with me because they had very low enrollment in the baby class. Yea! I was very happy b/c this would make my life much easier. I simply nurse her about 8:50 at church and put her to sleep in the nursing room with a monitor. Then I go and set-up for my classes which start at 9:30 and her teacher gets her up from her nap. Then I go and pick her up when I am done teaching and we go home for lunch. Today was her second day and she is doing marvelous!

There are three babies in her class and they ride around in a really big stroller with six seats. I saw her pass by the other day and she looked like such a big girl. She is enjoying new snacks like fig nutens and her teacher says that she loves to just sit and watch the big boys while they run around. I wish I had pictures from the first two days, but I forgot my camera both days. I will be better next week.

I am thouroughly enjoying staying at home! I feel so blessed that it is possible for me to do so. Jonathan and I are definetly on a tighter budget, but so far we are doing well. I must say that "stay-at-home mom" is definetly a relative term. Monday we go grocery shopping and do errands, Tuesday and Thursday are preschool, Wednesday is ladies Bible class and Friday is playgroup. And Jonathan was worried I might go stir crazy!
