Its a Family Thing

So we have all been enjoying some Guitar Hero around here. The other day Bryan was playing and Kylee observed for a second before making her move. She went to our guitar spot (behind the recliner) and got herself one so she could play with Bubba. So cute.

Here is one of her as she found a treasure straight from the laundry room. A basket full of silkies and blankies. It doesn't get any better than this!
Here is a video I shot of Kylee browsing through the paper. If I remember correctly we walked down the street the check the mail (we have those dumb community mailboxes) and turned around and came right back. It was so hot that day that I had to come in and sit under the fan. I'm such a wimp.

We had our first doctor's appt. about our little peanut today. He did go ahead and do an ultrasound and said everything looked good. Basically I just trusted him. He pointed out the sac and "pregnancy" as he called it, but I couldn't see anything. I'm hoping when we go back in a couple of weeks that our peanut will be big enough so we can hear a heartbeat. Kylee cried while the doctor was doing the ultrasound. I'm glad that Jonathan was there to help. The doctor tried to assure her that he wasn't hurting me, but she didn't trust him.

I went and picked out new glasses today. I was thankful to have a nurse that just said, "no those don't look good" to all of the pairs except the one I got. I need guidance in these things, especially since I am so blind when I have my glasses off and I have to get up really close to the mirror to see myself. :) The eye doctor said that my eyes were turning out and having trouble staying aligned. She said it was common during pregnancy and would most likely go away afterwards. I hope so, I haven't worn glasses full time since 8th grade. They are going to put prisms in my prescription to help. If only they could do that to contacts. It was interesting though, she held up the prisms to see how they worked and I could immediatly feel my eyes relax. I am looking forward to some relief.

Bryan has been down in Austin spending time with his cousins and Grandma this week. He is coming back in the morning, I am looking forward to seeing him. My mom offered to take Kylee too to give me a break, but I had a pregnant moment. I was packing her bag and burst into tears saying, "I might miss her, she can't go." In my defense I had been away from her that Friday night before. I know, I know I have to toughen up.

Van

Jonathan and I found a van that we wanted in McKinney on Thursday night. I called about it and they went ahead and pulled it for me, wasn't that nice? Jonathan couldn't make the trip with me because he was on call this weekend so I headed up to Dallas by myself. My mom came up to keep the kids, thanks mom!

Karen agreed to go with me. No one wants to buy a car alone. Karen is my car buying buddy. I have only bought two cars from a lot and she was there for both of them. The first car we bought I actually got in Oklahoma while I was up there visiting. Karen and I went to look and I found an awesome deal. So I bought the rodeo without Jonathan. That story repeated itself last night with the purchase of our Toyota Sienna. Karen was a good negotiator, but it turned out that we didn't have to haggle much.

I have always known that eventually I would have to buy a minivan or big SUV, but I must admit I was a little sad last night. I really love my rodeo and it was my first new car that I didn't pick out because it was a good deal from the want ads. Jonathan will be driving it now so at least it will still be around and I'm sure that I will still drive it. I know he is excited because like most husbands he has always driven the less desirable car. Now he actually has one that is only 5 years old!

I can't wait to see Bryan's face when I get home with the van. As I was leaving yesterday he told me that if I get the van to please not wreck it!

I am having some trouble with my eye sight. It hurts to track things and it feels like my prescription in incorrect. I went to the eye doctor and they said that sometimes with pregnancy your eyes can worsen. I am just wearing my glasses all the time because they are the lesser of the two evils. I have an appt. in August to get my Rx checked, but I hope they have a canelation before then. I haven't worn glasses full time since 8th grade. Its weird my glasses Rx is a few years old, but it doesn't seem to bother me as much as my contacts do. Has anyone else had this problem?

Come on let's get it straight!

I have been up since about 3 this morning. The pregnancy insomnia has kicked in. It actually started before I even knew I was pregnant. I don't know why my body does this...I am exhausted all day and can't sleep at night.

We had a great weekend in Abilene. One of our cousins was getting married in Cisco so we headed out Saturday morning to Abilene to visit with family. Jonathan was unable to get off on Monday for the wedding so Kylee and I rode with Jonathan's parents. We got to Abilene about 3 on Saturday afternoon and headed over to Jama's for a lingerie party for Becky. I think I embarrased her a little! Everyone else bought cute little pajamas and let's just say that I got her some things for Trevor to enjoy :)

Kylee got quite fussy on the way up there. Here is her "How much longer Mommy?" face.

Kylee had a blast seeing all of her cousins. I don't think we have ever had them all together. She hung out with the boys, Nolan and Jackson. She was fascinated that there were different kinds of toys to play with like cars and lawn mowers. She took advantage of the situation. I think that I might have to find her a lawn mower.

Here are Kylee and Jackson when they first met...ahhh

Here is Jackson trying to love on Kylee again. As you can see Kylee is much more interested in playing with the toys.
Cousins Jackson and Nolan playing with the riding toys
Here is our newest cousin, Seth. He is ten weeks old. His sweet mommy Kori is holding him.
Kylee loved Jackson's rocking horse. I've got to get her one.

Saturday night we enjoyed dinner with the family and more playing for Kylee and Jackson. Kylee slept very well that night. Saturday night Jonathan drove up and spent one night with us. He got to see the bride for a little bit on Sunday even though he couldn't be at the wedding so that was nice.

Technically Kylee and Jackson are not related by blood. Don't they make a cute couple?

Sunday night was the rehearsal dinner. More playing and good food. We had a little devo before dinner and Kylee was not happy about being quiet. I took her to the back to find alternative entertainment. She wanted to get down during a prayer and I wouldn't let her. She then decided to slap me in the face. I told her no and she hit me on my back. We left out the back and she got a good spanking. Daddy wasn't there to console her so she was stuck with me, the mean Mommy who gave her the spanking. It took her a while to calm down. That was my first spanking without Jonathan around, it was not fun.

We thought it would be fun for Jackson and Kylee to take a bath together. We were wrong! This was the only time that they were smiling. Jackson decided to show Kylee how to use the bat. Then Jackson got a spanking and Kylee lost it. I guess she thought that she was going to get one too.

Monday was the BIG day! I spent half of the day in my pajamas while Kylee took a very long morning nap. Then I watched some TV and piddled around the house. It was very nice. The wedding was beautiful, but of course I left my camera in the car! It was at Cisco Christian Camp. They got married outside in a little amphetheater thing. It was very shady and there was even breeze. Becky looked beautiful!!

They had a very nice reception afterwards and I ate a second dinner. Kylee enjoyed all of the food. I had to bribe her with jellybeans to get her to pose for some pictures. Needless to say she really enjoyed that!

Tuesday morning we headed home and got here about 2. I was very excited to see Bryan (he stayed with my mom for the weekend). I think I am going to try and take him to a movie or something today. We need to have some Mom-son time :)

4th of July

We had a great weekend. Jonathan got tickets to the rodeo from work and we got to sit on the 3rd row. It was really fun. We left early though because I was so tired. I'm getting old.

On Saturday morning Jonathan drove a gator in the Belton parade. Bryan got to ride with him. When Kylee saw them she yelled, "Dada!!" I'm sure it melted Jonthan's heart. For those of you who don't know about small town parades, let me tell you, they are a big deal. We had a great time with all the people from church. One of our members lives right on the parade route and let everyone come and sit in her yard. There were at least 50 people there from church, good times.

After the parade some friends invited us over for hamburgers and hot dogs, they were yummy. My mom and Bryan's sister got to come up and go to the parade with us. thanks for coming Mom and Brittney.

Saturday afternoon we all headed up to Dallas to see my sister Karen and her hubby Scott. We went to Chuy's (yummy!) and then we headed home to hang out. Sunday morning we were heathens and we went to Six Flags. We left Kylee with Grandma (thanks Mom) and the six of us went. Bryan got very scared on the boat, but he did ride a lot of rides. i was very proud of him. They talked me into riding the Titan. I will NEVER do that again. It was way to scary. I kept my eyes closed the whole time.

Monday morning we left to come home and enjoy a little bit of Jonathan's day off at home. Poor guy, he spent most of the day mowing for the exterminator the next day. We are finally free of ants!! It was expensive, but we had to do something. We had carpenter ants in our walls and tree. As a bonus, he also got rid of the fire ants!

We are now the proud owners of a blowup pool. It was very cold water!! The kids didn't seem to mind too much.

And here is my latest news for those of you who aren't on Facebook. See I do have an excuse for being so tired!

Busy day

I decided to take Kylee to the doctor today because she has been super fussy and i thought she might have another ear infection festering. I called this morning and I got the operator. She told me that it was a holiday and only the walk-in clinic was open. So I went ahead and put Kylee down for a nap and waited to go until later.

We headed out about 10 o'clock to go to the doctor and run a few errands. We got to the doctor and it turns out that the operator was a little confused... the walk-in clinic was closed and you could see the doctor by appointment only. She said that she would squeeze me in, thank you! She check Kylee over and said that her ear looked perfect. That is the first time that we have ever been to the doctor since she was 9 months where she did not have an ear infection. So I guess she has just been extra fussy. I think we are going to try and get some blackout material for her curtains to help her go to sleep at night better.

After we left the doctor's office we went to Discount Tire to get our tires rotated. It turned out that we needed 3 new tires and there was a 2 and half hour wait. I would have come back another day, but we are planning to go to Dallas tomorrow and kind of need safe tire. Luckily our tires still had some warranty left on them so they prorated our new ones!

I took the kids over to the mall to spend our 2 and half hours. Of course I did not have a stroller in the car today so we rented one when we got there. The kids played in the play area a while and then Jonathan came to meet us for lunch. By the time we were done eating we had wasted 2 hours and our car was done. I'm thankful that we got to spend our day in the mall instead of a tire store.

Both of the kids feel asleep on the way home and we all took a two hour nap. Yay for exhausted kids.

Yay for Grandparents!!

Last Friday I dropped the kids off at Jonathan's parents and we had a weekend without kids :) I got home about 7:00 and Jonathan had straightened the entire house and was ready for our date complete with a tie! We went to Texas Roadhouse and I had ribs for the first time, yummy. Saturday morning we slept in and hung around the house for a while. Then we went to see the new Transformers movie. I like it better than the first one.

Then we picked up dinner and headed home. We decided to take a little nap after dinner (such and exhausting day right?). We laid down about 6:30 and slept all night!! I guess we needed the rest. I missed the kids a lot. That was the first time I had left Kylee for more than one night. She didn't seem all that impressed to see me, but I told myself that she missed me anyway.

Bryan has his TAKS test today and tomorrow so please say a prayer for him. We are going to celebrate his last day tomorrow by going to a new little water park in town. Jonathan got tickets for Friday night's rodeo from work so we are going to check that out. Then Saturday morning he is driving a tractor in the big Belton parade. We have never gotten to go so we are excited. Then Monday Jonathan is off so we are going to take the kids to Sea World. Whoo I'm tired just thinking about all of the excitement.

Here is a picture of Kylee tryin on her cousin's shoes!
